The Bellator Fighting Championships is set to get its very first video game release on both the Xbox 360 as well as the Sony PlayStation 3.

Bellator Fighting Championships is seen by many as one of the biggest competitors to the Ultimate Fighting Championship, and is being heavily pushed by television network Spike TV.

Spike TV and 345 Games have announced via an official press release that they are bringing Bellator MMA Onslaught to the Xbox 360 and the Sony PS3 in the Summer 2012.

The game will be released as an offering on the Xbox Live Arcade, as well as on the PlayStation Store on the PlayStation Network.

Kung Fu Factory is the develop behind the new MMA fighting release, which will reportedly be more of an arcade experience rather than a simulation.

345 Games, the publisher of the Bellator release, believes that the game will be a mixed martial arts experience that will be accessible to all players.

Past UFC releases have been slammed by gamers for being far too difficult, and geared more towards the hardcore fighting fans.

Bellator MMA Onslaught is expected to be a fairly deep experience, as gamers will be able to create their own fighter, customize him entirely, and progress in the game.

Gamers will compete online and offline as they try to continue to move up the rankings in the Xbox Live community.

The game will also reportedly feature downloadable content that will expand on the experience as it grows over time.
