Street Fighter X Tekken : How lucky are we?

News that these games were being created were met with gasps as well as caution, I mean really, could we be so fortunate to see this actually happen?

Then the eyes had to be rubbed, rubbed and then rubbed again as we all saw the Street
Fighter x Tekken footage of Ryu getting kicked all over - ¦literally. The idea is awesome and the fact that two outing will be made, being bounded by the given worlds style of play is an generous one to say the least. All fans from both ends of the spectrum to be able to actually settle that ever ending argument. Who would win in a fight between Fei Long and Law? My money would be kept tightly in my pocket as both fighters have some substance as well as some mean hair do's.

The one thing that I can't help thinking, and forgive me for doing so as its simply down to preference. I can'tt help but think that the Capcom Version will free up the Tekken Characters, making them fluid and agile. The addition of Super/Ultra Moves, Parrying, Guard Breaks they are all in there.

The battling style of SF for me is the best, with the pinnacle being Street Fighter EX plus Alpha, which is where I thought these games were going? A fusion of the two styles if you will. Sort of 2.5D game play. It would have been in my staggering lush, but maybe EX is going to make a comeback and that is the reason that they wanted to go for the Drag Race style versions. One all Tekken, One all Street Fighter. For effort and dedication alone the work will be tough, I mean they need to put lots of intricate changes and modifications in to make sure the characters feel comfortable in each other's world, the look of them needs to fit to name a few.

Balancing the games will be tough, again I think Namco is in for a much more difficult time making the characters feel as though they belong, but again, this interests me all the more. The idea of Ryu and the Gang, only taking small steps and having to sit with my pad on my lap whilst I compute combinations into my DS3, fills me with excitement as well as truly and honestly perplexing as I always found Tekken, well, a little wooden.

Saying that it may be my choice of fighters as I always went for Law, Phoenix and Steve. Steve the boxer was my best but again I always felt really hemmed in with Tekken. I must add though, I intend to buy both games and give them some right 'Pasty' as I think they will
be brilliant in so many ways. I mean, how much am I looking forward to seeing the Capcom-ers and Namco style intro's and endings?

There is so much to look forward to with these games it untrue, although I would like to say if I were to choose a version to fight with in front of everyone it would be Capcom's with the destiny that is Ryu. Evil Ryu would be beyond comprehension, Karai on the other hand would be mind blowing.

To conclude, all gamers are in for a real treat, a look into an alternative world where we can see how things would have been if Capcom/Namco ruled the entire roost and had all the characters. Maybe this could spawn the likes of:

Fifa Vs PES,
Metal Gear Solid Vs Splinter Cell/Syphon Filter,
God of War Vs Uncharted,
Killzone Vs Halo,
Soulcaliber Vs Mortal Kombat,
Call of Duty Vs Battlefield

Who knows? If someone had of told me Street Fighter and Tekken were going to cross swords I wouldn't have believed them. Personally, I cannot wait for these games!
