Sony PlayStation Franchise Shadow of the Colossus Movie In Works

The Sony PlayStation franchise Shadow of the Colossus is being made into a big Hollywood motion picture, and it has been confirmed to have a man steering the film in the right correction.

The movie based on the PlayStation 2 game Shadow of the Colossus appears to be rolling along as it is expected to pick up steam in the coming months.

Sony confirmed a few years ago that they were going to have Justin Marks work on a script for the film.

It now appears that they are at the point where they want to kick start the project into the next gear.

The movie is said to have picked up a very popular developer, none other than Josh Trank. Josh Trank, for those of you who do not know, was the director of the popular feature film Chronicle.

The film Chronicle was a massive success as it managed to gross over $124 million worldwide, and cost under $15 million to create.

Josh Trank is expected to be the perfect person to develop this film, which will likely not have the biggest budget out there.

Sony believes that they have a star, as they are already thinking about Josh Trank and having him work on other projects as well, including films in the Fantastic Four and Spider-Man franchises.

Shadow of the Colossus is one of the most popular games in the entire library of the PlayStation 2, a library that is extremely vast to say the very least.

The expectation is that we are still likely at least a few years before we actually see a Shadow of the Colossus movie surface in theaters.

Perhaps though the film could get to the stage where it is released to coincide with a sequel to the original game, perhaps a new release on Sony's follow-up to the PlayStation 3 a few years down the road?

Only time will tell, but Josh Trank is officially at the helm of this new Sony film project and the news regarding the movie will likely pick up in the months ahead.
