Sony launches new PlayStation campaign

Outside the Las Angeles Convention Center, home of E3 2006, Sony has launched a new ad campaign featuring the slogan "Play Beyond" and the PlayStation logo. The ads feature a message that at this point is unclear. One ad features a game of paper-rock-scissors in which the players hands have actually turned into scissors and rock, another features a woman crossing a lake of lava on gymnastic rings. Early theories on the purpose of the ads include the beginning of a campaign to advertise Sony's upcoming online gaming service, while others are speculating that the ads concern the as-yet unannounced PS3 controller redesign. More word on the campaign is expected at Sony's pre-E3 press conference which will be held later this afternoon.
