Sony Drops Price of Dev Kits

Ever think about making your won kick@$$ PS3 game? Well, too bad. Gotta work for a company to do that. Why? Mostly because dev kits costs so much money but also cause Sony doesn't want just anyone making games for them. STill, it's nice to know that the price of the dev kit dropped 50% from $20,000 to $10,000. What does this mean for you? Well, the cheaper the developer costs, the more devs jump on board and the more money devs can invest in interesting things like better gameplay.

Wii devkit = $4,000
PS2 devkit (first 14 months) = $20,000
PS3 devkit (first 12 months) = $20,000
PS3 devkit ( >12 months) = $10,000
360 devkit = $12,000
