Sony denies PS3 downgrade rumors

Sony has commented on the recent rumor regarding the speed at which the Cell processor in the PS3 will run, saying the speculation was "categorically not true." According to a report, the processor had been downgraded from 3.2GHz to 2.8GHz because of heat issues. Sony said the rumor was not true and that game developers have been working with PS3 development kits for up to 12 months now, meaning such a change in hardware would not be feasible.
