Sony CEO: PS3 price gamble will pay off

Sony chairman and CEO Howard Stringer says the company has taken a gamble with the high price of its PlayStation 3, but is conidenet the console will trump its rivals. "The price of the PS3 is high ... but you're paying for (its) potential," Stringer said at a press conference today. "Obviously, it's a higher-risk strategy as all new inventions are but if the PS3 lives up to its total potential, then I don't think anyone will be worried about Nintendo or Xbox's cheaper price."
