Some Enlightenment About L.A. Noir

It's been over 5 years since we saw the first glimpse of L.A. Noire, a crime thriller game produced by Team Bondi in collaboration with Rockstar games. At first, we were led to believe that the game was a PS3 exclusive but in recent years has now become multi-platform title. Based on the hard-boiled film genre that bears the same name, this new franchise is meant to be based on post WWII L.A. and corruption within the LAPD. Think of Law and Order but in the 1940's.

From early looks, it is easy to see Rockstar's input in the design. Like many of its other successful titles, LA Noire will be an open-world sandbox type experience. Rockstar and Team Bondi have also said that they are making player decisions an integral part of the game, perhaps even resulting in multiple paths/endings. I've always wanted to play the cop/sheriff in other Rockstar titles, and I think L.A. Noire will satisfy my craving very well.

Besides these few teasers that Rockstar and Team Bondi has given us, we can't really
determine much about what this game is going to be like. It seems from the trailer, that was posted many months ago, that you play a Detective tracking down murderer by following the clues to find him/her. We don't know if the game is one big mystery or if there are multiple mysteries in the life of this Detective. I hope there are multiple, if not I think it would be too much like Heavy Rain just set a few decades earlier. We also don't know if its going to be released on PC. Because of what happened with Red Dead Redemption we shouldn't be too quick to dismiss this idea.

From the facts provided to us by Rockstar the game was initially supposed to come out
at the end of this year for the holiday season, however some complications have
resulted in it being delayed to 'early 2011'. Though I was disappointed by the game
being delayed till next year hopefully these issues can be rectified so Team Bondi's
launch game, L.A. Noire, will be the best it can be.
