Report Suggests Sony Making Plans For New PS4

A source has told Develop that multiple Sony first-party studios have begun working on PlayStation 4 games. That's not to say they're anywhere near done or would be launching in the next year or two; there was no indication that a PS4 would be out sooner than 2014, which falls in with what we heard earlier this year about a launch in 2014.

Sony has suggested the PS4 is still far off, although Taiwanese component makers have led some to believe the system will be out next year, a scenario that is incredibly difficult to believe. We do, however, know Sony is interested in getting game makers to help out with the creation of new hardware, so getting first-party studios working on games early on would fit in with that.
