PS3 Update: 3.00/3.01 & Home - Progression & Vision

Ahh - the updates - we love them don't we. After looking at mine I think
that we are actually starting to get somewhere and when I say we, I mean
we. Sony seem to be actually listening to PS3 owners which is a good thing
as this way they give everyone want they want as well as what we need.

The newbie's include being able to see what your friends are doing on the
games and where they are? The 'What's new' is a good feature, the BBC
Iplayer shortcut is a stroke of genius with the new looking site is great
and runs really well. I think that the PS3 Features are really starting to
get in the groove when it comes to offering great features as well as
being relevant.

The type style feature In VidZone is beautiful as it makes searching
tracks simple and quick which is what you want when you have a tune
booming whilst applying your fragrance for your night out - note: your
friends can see what your listening/watching now which may be more
embarrassing than your fragrance?

It's a real impressive feat when you think where games consoles use to be.
Game - Wait to load - play - die - start again. Nowadays you turn your
console on and its does everything and this is just the beginning with the
way tech moves forward.

The latest update isn't a mountain moving feat but at the same time is a
tweak to an already great system. More news as we get it people.

Home: Progression and Vision

Sony's virtual world is starting to play a real part by interacting with
other games. The new places to visit are awesome and its becoming sort of
a museum of places and information. A great way to be involved and looking
at places without having the fast pace of being in the game. The mini
games in each site seem to be gathering momentum and continue to offer a
real reason to visit - getting your name in lights and improving the score
of anyone on your friends list can be quite addictive.

As an idea for Sony they need to start using this as a catalyst as it's a
great little feature - I mean Dizzie Rascal launches his new album on
their whilst letting everyone Dizzie Mask up and strut is a cool idea. The
thing with home is to understand what it can do you need to visit it with
an open mind and have a look around. Hitting various game levels and
strolling round at your leisure - hitting malls and entertaining area -
decking out your apartment and making it your own - it's a great little
addition which is something else you can do and enjoy. Meeting all your
buddies for a game of pool whilst being warm and settled at home during
these Autumn/Wintery evening doesn't mean moving into a huge house
anymore. I am eager to watch the overall evolution of Home and how it
plays a further part to each game.
