PlayStation 3 European launch delayed until 2007

Sony Computer Entertainment head Ken Kutaragi has made the rumors official: the long-awaited PS3 launch will be delayed in Europe, with the launch now planned for March 2007. In addition to the European delay, Kutaragi also halved Sony's shipment forecast, now stating that they hope to get two million units out the door by the end of '06 — down from a previous projection of four million. Once again, it seems that the delays and lower numbers are due to problems with the mass production of certain parts within the console's Blu-Ray Disc drive.
