New Michael Jackson Game Features Singer's Voice

There can be no doubt that Michael Jackson loved video games. Earlier this year, when items from his Neverland Ranch went on auction to help pay outstanding debts, gaming nerds all over the internet flocked to the auction site to scope out all of the hidden gems the star had accumulated from the golden era of arcade machines. Among some of the highlights in his awesome collection were San Francisco Rush, X-Men, Tokyo Cop, Dig Dug and Lethal Enforcer.

Michael Jackson didn't just like to play games, he also liked to feature in them. His heavy involvement in Sega's 1990 adaptation of Moonwalker resulted in a totally original actioner that, while flawed, still remains fascinating as a cultural artefact today.

According to reports, gamers will soon get another chance to play a video game featuring Michael Jackson. A spokesperson from his MJJ music company has confirmed that such a game is in production, and that Jackson had already laid down some voice acting tracks before his untimely death.

The game, which so far has not been officially named, has been in development "for several months". MJJ has stated that they are aiming for a winter 2009 release on major home consoles (Which we take to mean PS3 and Xbox 360). How crazy would a Wii game based on Michael Jackson be, though?

In addition to the star's voice, the game will apparently feature some iconic music from Jackson's career, a move that is sure to please his legions of fans. Lets keep our fingers crossed that there are some actual, talented game developers working on this title and that it ends up to be a fun and worthwhile digital homage to the singer.
