Sony announced new hardware today at the Leipzig Gaming Convention, Europe's version of America's E3. The new hardware consists of a whopping new 160GB PS3 and a wireless keypad. So enough with the introduction, let's get to the details.

The 160GB PS3 ($499) arrives as a Limited Edition bundle in November with Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, voucher for PAIN on the PSN, a DualShock 3 wireless controller, and not to mention the obvious ample amount of HDD space! The 160GB PS3 will have the same functionality as the 80GB PS3 version, so it's safe to assume the 160GB is backwards compatible. Sony upgraded the PS3 HDD to provide gamers a wealth of space for game & video downloads along with housing one's ever-growing music & photo library.

The wireless keypad operates bluetooth, charges via USB cable, and can operate with any other bluetooth device. The keypad snaps onto the PS3 controller and has two features. An area of the keypad can be utilized as a "trackpad" per-say (allowing it to act as a mouse) and contains two shortcut keys for quick access to XMB's "Friends" and "Message Box." The price is unspecified at this time, but launches in late November.
