Mini Ninjas Screenshots and Story Details

The quirky brawler Mini Ninjas has been on our radar for a while, ever since Eidos Interactive announced the project back in January. At that time, all we had was a flashy cinematic trailer and a vague idea about what the game would be about (tiny ninjas, obviously). Now, Eidos has confirmed that the game, which is headed to the Wii, Xbox 360 and PS3 platforms, will be available in stores this fall. They have also released some new in-game screenshots, which you can check out below.

The story sounds compelling enough: "When the Evil Samurai Warlord, with the help of an ancient magic, turns forest animals in to an army hell bent on world domination, Hiro must lead his small band of Ninjas on an exciting journey through a disintegrating world, to battle the magical hordes of twisted Samurai and eventually confront the Warlord in his Fortress of Doom."

The journey to the Fortress of Doom is long and dangerous adventure that will take Hiro and his Ninja friends through a large and detailed world which includes bamboo forests, snowy mountains, treacherous castle interiors and flooded valleys. Players will need to use their various ninja skills, potions, magic and to defeat enemies large and small.

Highlights from the latest batch of screenshots are included below. These screens are from the Xbox 360 version of the game, but they likely gove a good sense of what the final product will look like on both platforms. The game has a nice, colorful, light-hearted style which reminds us a bit of Kung Fu Panda. We will definitely bring you more on Mini Ninjas as soon as we get a chance at some actual gameplay.
