If you are a fan of military strategy games, there is only one thing you need to know: Military Madness Nectaris is now available for download on the PSN, with a price tag of $9.99. The rest of you may keep reading to find out more.

Military Madness: Nectaris is a remake of the original Turbo Grafx 16 game. The grid-based strategy title quickly gained a fanatic following and is now regarded as one of the real classics from the TG16 catalog. In fact, within a year of its original release on the TurboGrafx-16 in 1989, Military Madness won awards for "Best Military Strategy Game" and "Best War Game." The original features two opposing forces with near-future military equipment battling it out on the Moon. Each level is a distinct map with a hex grid, on which players take turns moving their units in an effort to win by destroying all enemy units or taking over the enemy headquarters.

Hudson Soft is responsible for this new remake, which ads new maps and fancy 3D grahpics into the mix. But at its core, Nectaris is still very much a Military Madness title.

The new release title features the same strategic gameplay that Military Madness players have come to expect, along with new features such as high-definition graphics, four-player online or local vs.multiplayer, an all-new customizable Commander unit, leaderboards and more. With up to four-person online available in vs. or team battles, Military Madness masters can compete with each other across the world. Multiplayer maps are also specifically designed to be balanced for 2, 3 or 4 players. The addition of the multiplayer-specific Commander unit allows players to customize their strategies before a battle by spending points to select abilities that improve the Commander unit itself, improve friendly units or disrupt enemy units.

Like the original game, Military Madness: Nectaris players strategize by the placement and movement of units, make use of terrain advantages and predict enemy movements to outsmart the enemy.

Look for us online, and prepare to have your butt handed to you!
