Microsoft CEO: Xbox 360 will capitalize on PS3 delay

Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer says that the PS3's November launch gives the Xbox 360 a major opportunity to become the top next-generation gaming console. "In every other generation, the first guy to 10 million consoles was the number one seller in the generation," Ballmer told Fortune magazine. "Did we just get an even better opportunity to be the first guy to 10 million? Yeah, of course we did." Microsoft will not, however, speed up Xbox 360 production to capitalize on Sony's delay — because it's already producing the console as fast as possible. "We've been saying 'make them faster' before yesterday," said Ballmer.
