Metal Gear 5peculation

Like many figureheads in the video game industry, Hideo Kojima likes to tease. We have been eagerly following the latest Konami teaser site, which appears to show elements of an upcoming Metal Gear Solid game, possibly leading up to an announcement at E3. Well, after taking a closer look we now see a character that looks like the Boss -- with his eye patch and designer beard to boot. Surprisingly it seems the the team are also trying to get a point across by way of Flashing 'P, S, 3' at us -- like trying to send some subliminal messages about platform exclusivity, perhaps?

I agree with speculation that maybe we will end up seeing a new chapter of this game -- perhaps a downloadable add-on chapter in which we see the battle from another angle? Maybe there was a third clone which was neither Solid, Liquid or Solidus, but a third absolute clone with damaged eye? The great things about Konami and Kojima is that they contantly keep us on our toes. Their relentless teasing has done the job of whirling up a tremendous storm of hype around the Metal Gear franchise, so whatever surprises they have in store for us at E3 will be closely watched by millions.

A new chapter in the series would, of course, be awesome. Seeing this new image is causing me to rack my brains and I also plan to have a blast through the Metal Gears [of which I own all] to see if I can find any clues as to who this mysterious character might be. Sad maybe? A Weekend well spent? - For Sure! These guys have a tendency of leaving a clue miles back in the series and then having a big reveal much, much later - then the focal points are between the two which in many cases opens up a totally new story? I mean how much do we all want to play and find out how Raiden got Sunny back and in turn ended up being completely rebuilt as all that was left was his head and spinal cord? Gruesome fact about the ins and outs of the suit that Raiden wears but what an amazing story. This is an example of how engulfing and well written the Metal Gear saga is. You can pick a single fact or tiny bite size piece of the Metal Gear timeline and it would in itself be a worthy escapade to enjoy.

Many questions remain unanswered, but the one thing I know for certain is that I cannot wait for next week's E3 bonanza!
