Little Big Planet Keys: You Want Em, We Don't Have Em
The Internet came perilously close to complete self-destruction today, as over 100 million Sony fans clicked "refresh" simultaneously on some of the most popular gaming websites. Nearly buckling under the weight of so many ping requests, the servers of IGN, Gamepro and the LBP Official Site began to emit showers of sparks as technicians that were standing by doused the hardware with flame retardant chemicals.
Luckily, it seems as though the Internet has managed to pull through, if only barely.
A spokesperson for Gamepro issued the following statement, after the magazine managed to give away 1250 LBP beta keys. The keys allow PS3 owners to download and participate in closed beta testing, before anyone else gets a chance to play the hotly-anticipated title.
"Look man, we just thought it was a good way to boost traffic to our site. We had no idea what the consequences would be. I mean, they just kept coming, like a horde of marauding e-locusts. By the time they got through with our code-heavy website design, there was hardly anything left. (sob)"
Luckily, PS3Informer managed to survive the onslaught, as there was nary a Beta key in sight in our little corner of the web. Like many disappointed Internet surfers, we will have to wait until October 21st to get our hands on Little Big Planet.

That's OK, we didn't want to play with you guys anyway. Sniff.
