Konami: Metal Gear Solid Rising is Multiplatform

Earlier in the week our fanboy friends over at Xboxist had some fun touting the new Metal Gear Solid: Rising game as an Xbox 360 exclusive. However, their excitement was short lived, as exclusivity was not to be in this case. Konami today confirmed that Rising marks the series' first simultaneous multi-platform release. The game will be available in 2010 for the Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC systems.

According to Konami, Metal Gear Solid: Rising stars Raiden - one of the most controversial characters within the MGS universe. Raiden made his debut as a playable character in Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty for PlayStation 2, and appeared as a non-playable cyborg in Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots for the PS3.

"The Metal Gear Solid series has always pushed the bar with its cinematic visuals and entertaining story line," said Martin Schneider, European Marketing Director for Konami Digital Entertainment. "Now even more gamers can immerse themselves in the franchise and experience the groundbreaking series as Metal Gear Solid: Rising heads to the platform of their choice."

Series developer Hideo Kojima has said that while this game represents "A Metal Gear Solid 5 for current-generation consoles," he is not heavily involved in the game's production. Instead, he will be devoting his efforts toward the PSP installment called Peacewalker. We are pumped to get our hands on both of these games, and we will have more information for readers when we do.

hideo kojima has never failed in his delivery but if raiden is oing to be the main playable character then i think hideo should call in the DMC team to initiate the swordplay stunt and acrobats of raiden in the gameplay as it was seen in the cinematics.
