The console wars between Sony and Microsoft are heating up a bit as the PlayStation 3 is finally starting to get rolling and the Xbox 360 is hitting its stride.
Rumors are spreading that the Killzone PS3 demo is set to interrupt all of the buzz that will be surrounding the Halo 3 beta when it launches in the spring.
Back at E3 2005 Sony showed off a Killzone demo which looks simply stunning, but it was later proven that it was simply all CG and that none of it was actually gameplay. It was simply written off as too good to be true. Since then though the big wigs over at Sony have stated that Killzone is coming along nicely and that it does indeed look just as good as the trailer which wowed gamers and audiences around the world back in 2005.
Nothing has really been shown in a while but if Sony could ever manage to put out a free demo of Killzone which blows away anything Halo 3 could put out in its multi-player beta test then it could end up giving a huge boost to both the PlayStation 3 and the PlayStation Network as a true online service with quality games which can only be enjoyed and played thanks to the immense power of the PlayStation 3.
Only time will tell if the rumor turns out to be true but more information is sure to be coming out of this shortly.
