Green Day Rock Band?

Green Day lead singer Billy Joel Armstrong let a tantalizing tidbit slip during a radio show appearance on KROQ 106.7 FM. Apparently, the massive Green Day void we've all felt in our music games will finally be filled when the band makes their debut in Rock Band.

Billy Joel threw up the information rather nonchalantly, stating that "Uh yeah, we're doing a whole Green Day Rock Band... uh."

And there you have it -- straight from the horse's mouth and just as incomprehensible. Could this mean their own standalone game a la Beatles Rock Band or just a downloadable pack? We're better off imagining the answer since Harmonix refuses to comment.

Seeing that Green Day just released an album and are kicking off a major tour, a full-fledged game is not out of the question for a band of their caliber and notoriety. The definitive answer remains to be heard. Meanwhile, EA's PR team scramble in the wake of another celebrity NDA snafu.
