Grasshopper Manufacture Working on "Risky" PS3 Game

In the current economic climate, it is unusual to hear about a video game publisher who is willing to take a risk. Big names, popular genres and sequels appear to rule the day, as developers want to cash in on sure-fire hits rather than face poor sales and possible bankruptcy. Luckily there is at least one games maker bucking the trend towards mediocrity. Grasshopper Manufacture, the quirky boutique developer behind Goichi Suda's successful No More Heroes, says that it is working on a secret PS3 game. This would be the first time that auteur developer Wada, whose other credits include Flower, Sun and Rain as well as killer7, has devoted his talents to the powerful PS3 hardware.

We are very eager to find out what he and his fellow grasshoppers have planned for us, and according to recent statements, it will be quite a surprise. "If we do that game we might go bankrupt. We are making it, but if we make everything then it's a little too risky." The company, whose corporate logo reads "Punk is Not Dead", is probably going to go ahead and make the game to their own tastes anyway. We sure hope they do.
