Friends-
For nearly a year, fans of the Grand Theft Auto franchise have picked
through every last bit of media that we have placed onto the web. Everything
from screenshots to internet-crashing trailers have been analyzed in detail,
as fans have tried to piece together a blueprint for the massive, modern
epic experience that awaits them in Grand Theft Auto IV. Today, those fans
will be given their first tour of Liberty City, as we go live with the
anticipated launch of Grand Theft Auto IV's official website. Millions of
the game's fans will get their first true taste of the street-level sights
and sounds within the thriving metropolis that we have dedicated years to
building. Beyond the game's towering walls, bridges, and skyscrapers or the
hundreds of dark and crooked alleyways, visitors will also be given an
introduction to the complex characters that will either guide them along the
way, or stab them in the back as immigrant protagonist Niko Bellic strives
to achieve the so-called "American Dream".Today, you are invited to take your first steps into our fictional world of
Liberty City as well. Meet-up with Niko's cousin Roman at his cab company
in Broker. Be first in line for an on-stage performance in Star Junction.
Test out your fizz-handling skills at the Sprunk soda HQ in Alderney.
Analyze your 'Love Meet' compatibility while strolling through Algonquin,
then swing by the Steinway Beer Garden in Dukes for a pint. This is only the
first taste of what's out there to discover in Liberty City.Fans eagerly await the release of Grand Theft Auto IV on April 29th, 2008.
Until then, be sure to experience all of Liberty City's diverse flavor at
the link below, and please feel free to contact us with any questions you
may have along your tour.Steve Hahnel
