God of War 3 Demo: Impressions

PS3 piccy.jpg

Morning, campers. It's been a while since I have been here, but please accept my apologies as work has been manic. Now we have lots to talk about as the world of the PS3 has kicked off. And when I say kicked off I mean "Full Boom Levels." I have had a feat of gaming goodness recently as I have had chance to get on and play some fantastic games. So, without further ado, let's get cracking.

I have been playing this demo continually since it has been available. If truth be known my brother has had it for months as he bought, yes bought the demo from eBay for £5.00. Yes - you read that correctly he bought the DEMO! This is the furious amount of aniticipation and high regard this game has. People are or should I say were buying the Demo as it was available before they decided to release it as a general prior to the release of the game.

So I have seen snippets but not experienced it firsthand... until now.

My first impression: considering this is an old snippet, and considering I have been following this game like a lost puppy, drooling over it incessantly, obsessively, my first impression -- MINDBLOWING.

I cannot believe the visuals. The fluidity, the sheer aggression, and style is for me amazing. Since the release of this demo, the game has received some serious polish; so the final product will blow the demo - which is shockingly impressive - out of the water.

I have played and enjoyed God of War 1 and 2 on PS2, and I am going to buy the revamped versions even though I still own God of War 1 and 2. The level ideas shine through, such as from making your way across gaps with the use of attacking foes to the super moves and ferocious combat style. The tweaks and finishing moves are relentless and truly a look into what the PS3 has to offer.

I have a funny feeling that God of War 3 is going to the be the greatest game I have ever played. I think the pedestal that Metal Gear Solid sits on within my soul is going to be adjusted and made stronger and more sturdy, as it will need to withstand the colossus that is Kratos. I cannot wait for the release of this game.
