Five More PS3 Games We Want to Play in 3D

Sony has wowed us with stereoscopic versions of Wipeout HD, Motorstorm, and more recently Gran Turismo 5. By all accounts, these racing games look wicked in 3D. And why wouldn't they? The sense of depth created by stereoscopic vision is perfectly suited to navigating treacherous portions of racetrack at high speeds. But besides these early demonstrations, what other games might be able to take advantage of the extra 'D' offered by this new technology? Here are five games that might be worth the effort to retrofit for 3D.

Warhawk
This classic multiplayer shooter has delighted us for years since its launch, and it still looks great on the PS3. But adding 3D graphics would really take this multiplayer shooter to the next level. Since a sequel is on the way, why not throw a coat of new paint on the old workhorse and take her out for one last joyful spin?

Grand Theft Auto IV
Somewhat unfairly criticized at launch for being overhyped and failing to deliver, Rockstar's current-gen magnum opus has actually held up very well. Wit the new DLC now available on the PS3, what better way to revisit Liberty City than in glorious 3D. The thought of mowing down prostitutes and jacking cars in yet another layer of realism gives us nerdgasms.

Tekken 6
Fighting games are another genre that might work really well in stereoscopic 3D. being able to clearly determine the depth of the arena and the distance from your opponent could add a whole new level of realism to the bloodsport. Any of the recent fighting titles would look great in 3D, but we are particularly fond of Tekken 6 because of its easy-to-learn difficult-to-,aster mechanics and awesome graphics.

Super Stardust HD
This classic and trippy shooter would be a perfect candidate for conversion to Stereoscopic 3D. The game already looks incredible on a normal display, so imagine what it would look like to navigate spherical planetoids that actually floated in front of your TV. The gameplay is great already, but 3D might add even another layer of challenge to the game for arcade perfectionists like ourselves.

Killzone 2
What better way to prepare us for Killzone 3, than by proving exactly why we should be excited about first-person shooting in stereoscopic 3D. This probably wouldn't be too much of a challenge, considering that developer Guerrilla Games is probably using a similar rendering engine in its upcoming sequel. In fact, Sony has already shown a 3D trailer for Killzone 2 this week at a promotional event in Tokyo. Can't wait!
