Far Cry 3 is one of the most highly-anticipated games of the year and is set to hit the Xbox 360 as well as the Sony PlayStation 3 on September 4th of this year. That has not stopped gamers though from salivating over the upcoming multiplayer beta that will be available on both next-generation consoles.

Ubisoft has announced some details surrounding the upcoming multiplayer beta for Far Cry 3, the first person shooter set to hit this coming September.

The multiplayer beta is going to be a closed beta, meaning that gamers are going to need a redemption code in order to be able to download the bet aand participate in it on their respective console fo choice, whether it be on the PS3 or Xbox 360.

The closed multiplayer beta has been confirmed by Ubisoft to be open for two weeks this summer on the Xbox 360 on Xbox Live, and on the PS3 on the PlayStation Network.

There will be six playable classes on the beta, with maps supporting up to 16 players at once.

There will be more than one map and more than one game mode to try out throughout the course of the two week beta period.

Ubisoft also confirmed that there will be tons of weapon upgrades and support of other team type cooperative gameplay to keep gamers really involved over the two week span.

Ubisoft has confirmed that if you are a GameStop PowerUp Rewards member, you can purchase Ghost Recon Future Soldier on the PS3 or Xbox 360 and get an invitation code to the beta.

Ubisoft is also going to be giving away 500 beta keys at www.farcrygame.com/sweeps.
