Evidence Suggests Syphon Filter 5 Coming to PS3

Over the weekend, rumors surfaced that a long-running Playstation franchise might be getting a reboot on the PS3. Sony Bend is allegedly working on an unannounced Syphon Filter sequel for Sony’s newest console. The development studio in question has been behind all of the titles on consoles, as well as the recent PSP Syphon Filter games.

Recent evidence suggests that this rumor might be more than just idle speculation by fan blogs and message posters. A California digital production company called PCB Productions has listed the game Syphon Filter 5 among its recent credits. The company was apparently hired to do facial motion capture for the game, which is in development at Sony Bend.

Current generation console games take years of development time and often require outsourcing of time-intensive work like voice acting and mocap to other studios. There is a strong chance that this listing is no mistake, and that Syphon Filter 5 really is one of the secret games that Sony has in development for the PS3. Hopefully if this news turns out to be credible, it will force an official confirmation out of Sony Bend soon.
