Did the God of War Really Say No To Blu-Ray?

After Game Trailers teaser video this week in which God of War creator David Jaffe apparently recommended that Sony should have left out the PS3's Blu-ray, it appears that this wasn't exactly so.

A number of gaming sites ran the story this week, but according to GamePro's sources, "Jaffe actually answers that question by saying he thinks the PS3 is perfect the way it is, but in his personal opinion he would have removed Blu-ray to make it cheaper. He goes on to say that Sony is smarter than him when it comes to this stuff."

Sony also went on to comment that "David Jaffe is an industry pioneer who has earned the right to speak his mind on anything he wants when it comes to videogames."

In any case, Blu-Ray is actually doing very well, through the first two months of 2007, it outsold HD-DVD by almost a 3:1 ratio. We think it's still a good move by Sony, as they really had no choice what with Xbox's HD-DVD add on.
