Developers Knew About Trophies in Advance: Most Games Compatible

When the new "Trophy" achievement system from Sony arrives in the next couple of weeks, most games will already be compatible with the system. In a recent article appearing in Official PlayStation UK, the company boasts that "more than 70%" of games will already work with the system, which has been in development for months. This means that compatibility will most likely be limited to the newest titles, so we expect to see Trophy support added to games like Metal Gear Solid IV and Call of Duty 4.

Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on how you look at it), trophies will not be unlocked retroactively. This means that when the new firmware feature arrives, gamers will have an excuse to go back and re-play games they already own, in order to win the trophies for those titles. Like the slaves for achievements that we are, don't be surprised if Gameflavor writers are busy in the month of July re-playing some of our old faves on PS3.

Keep it locked on GameFlavor.com for a full list of compatible titles once we learn more.
