Deep Silver Announces Open-World Biker Game

European game developer and publisher Deep Silver today released details on a new open world motorcycle game called "Ride to Hell" planned for simultaneous release on the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3.

According to the studio, Ride to Hell takes place in the hippie era at the end of the 1960's, a time of Sex, Drugs and Rock 'N Roll. The biker movement, rock music and the hippie counterculture all add to the fascinating atmosphere to be experienced in 'Ride to Hell'.

The developers are enthusiastic about what they are terming "fully free roaming environments". The world will be expansive, encompassing a large chunk of the Western United States. The company also promises that there will be a multitude of vehicles (mostly motorcycles, we imagine) to collect and ride. In a story that the developers are calling "epic", players will have to manage their own gang of badass motorcycle dudes and protect their turf from rival gangs. The game will also feature authentic art direction and a cinematic feel, say the developers.

In their press release, Deep Silver bragged that "Ride to Hell is not for the faint hearted; it's aimed heavily at the player who wants to become fully involved in the original West Coast biker culture. With its hard drinking, bare knuckle environment, this is as close to the action as you can get."

We are excited about what we have heard so far, and we can't wait to bring you more details on the specific features and gameplay as this title, which has already been in development for over a year, nears completion. In the mean time, you can check out some official artwork for the game below.
