Come Fold With Us! PS3 Informer Joins PS3Folding.com

If you own a PS3, you may have heard of a little program called Folding@Home. Before there were any games worth playing (zing!) for the black monolith, owners turned their seven Cell processors to other sources of entertainment. One such application was Folding@Home, a distributed computing experiment run by Stanford University. Not only is Folding@home a fun way to burn unused CPU cycles, it is also for a good cause: the software is helping to cure illnesses like Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease. The program runs in the background while the Ps3 is idle, so it doesn't cut in to precious gameplay.

To show our support for this worthy cause, PS3Informer has joined forces with one of the largest teams of folders in the world, PS3Folding. We are currently ranked #221 out of 13751 other teams in the world! With the help of GameFlavor readers behind us, we hope to take over that much-vaunted number 1 spot. How to Join

1. Start the Folding@Home client
2. Once it loads hit triangle
3. Go down to "Identity" > "Change donor's name"
4. Input Name (Please use your PS3 user name)
5. Then hit Accept
6. Go to Identity, and click "Join an Existing Team"
