Atari Patches Ghostbusters: The Video Game

Sure it came a little late, but Atari has finally announced that a new patch is available for Ghostbusters: The Video Game on Playstation 3. The game was released on June 16, 2009 and has since sold over 1 million copies. This patch contains a number of fixes for both single and multiplayer modes, making the slime shooting, ghost busting experience work a little bit more smoothly on Sony's machine. The patch is available as an automatic update for consoles as soon as they are connected to the internet.

Both single and multiplayer modes have been updated. In single player mode, fixes include an increase in resolution to match that of Xbox 360 as well as some freeze issues, along with numerous other localization fixes. Several audio/subtitle mismatches have been patched up as well. The multiplayer patches fix certain maps when both SCEA and SCEE players attempt to play with each other, and the Pay Day Trophy and Capture All Most Wanted Ghosts Trophy now unlock properly.

Ghostbusters: The Video Game, based on the hit motion picture franchise, is written by original Ghostbusters writers and stars Harold Ramis and Dan Aykroyd and reunites many of the original cast members to recapture the magic that established Ghostbusters as a pop culture sensation.
