At $60, LittleBigPlanet GOTY Edition Doesn't Tempt Us

According to Sony, this special edition will celebrate the success of the original game while bringing some fresh, never-before-seen bonus levels by the LittleBigPlanet fans (wait a minute, we though fan created content was supposed to be free for everyone?!?). The LittleBigPlanet - Game of the Year edition will also include seven of the downloadable Content Packs from PSN.

Certain limited quantities of the game will include exclusive access to the upcoming ModNation Racers Online Beta. However, Sony has not explained how many copies of the game will feature this Beta voucher, or how customers can identify which game packages have a coupon inside.

Sony is claiming that the bonus content included with this game is worth more than $30, but that is only true if you are the type of person to download costume packs. See below for the breakdown of pricing.

LittleBigPlanet - Game of the Year Bonus Content to Include:

• 18 Exclusive Levels Created by LittleBigPlanet Fans from Around the Globe -
Each creator was hand picked by Media Molecule based on previous levels that these enthusiasts have created and shared online. After being identified, all 18 consumers were commissioned to design a completely new environment for the LittleBigPlanet world, allowing each fan to become an amateur video game developer.

• 7 Costume & Level Packs - Each Content Pack provides a mix of goodies to expand Sackboy's wardrobe, deliver new action packed gameplay, and a larger variety of "Create" materials. Packs include:
o Metal Gear Solid Level Pack - featuring the "Paintinator" ($5.99*)
o Metal Gear Solid Costumes ($5.99*)
o Monsters Costumes ($2.99*)
