One of the titles we've all been keeping our eye on is Armored Core 4, the mech-based simulation title that has had gamers drooling since the first videos came out. It may already be out in Japan, but Armored Core 4's publisher, 505 Games have announced that it will be released on 27th April for the PS3.
Despite being titled Armored Core 4, this version is the 11th installment of From Software's Armored Core series. Armored Core 4 is set in the near future in an alternate universe where a great war has left the nations of Earth devastated and corporations have taken over the role of the government. The game features a system for personalized customization of the player's mech and an online mode where players can battle each other over the PlayStation Network.
The first next-generation iteration for Armored Core takes environments and destructibility to a new level. Not only is there dynamic lighting, shadows, and fog, but destroy buildings to let light in or hide in water to attack your enemies unseen. Players also have the ability to customize their mechs like never before. Change weapons, armor, and internal hardware and then tweak them to your own personal fighting style. Then take you mech online with deathmatches against players from all over the world.
Be ready when the action kicks off in late April.
