40 GB PS3s Hit Stores, No One Gets Shot This Time

The new PS3s went on sale today (in America) and if you're trying to buy one from Amazon, Walmart and Gamestop will gladly pick up their slack. Though no Walmart stores around me seem to have any in stock, despite the fact that they're advertising in the store that they have them. (best to check online prior to heading into the stores) Will the sales of the new PS3 gain traction in the Americas as much as it had in Europe? The outlook for PS3 does look promising going into the Holiday season. Sony might be behind the 360 by about 50,000 units, but it's ahead what the 360 was last year by about 33%. (360 does well in English-speaking markets but falters when you cross those language boundaries.)
