Yakuza 3 Gameplay Video Showcases Headcracking

One of the hottest exclusives coming to the PS3 in 2009 is Yakuza 3. This Japanese gangland simulator published by Sega is like a cross between Grand Theft Auto, Shenmue, and Streets of Rage. The first two games for the Playstation 2 took place in a fictional city, where the player was tasked with jobs and missions in the ordinary life of a Yakuza hitman: pachinko parlours, extortion, pimping, and of course, delivering beatdowns. The newest installment will take the player to the real-life city of Okinawa, known for its long yakuza heritage.

The main character, Kazuma Kiryu, has some new moves as well. The gameplay trailer below showcases some of the many ways players will be able to unleash hurt on those who stand in their way. Keep an ear out for awesome pinball sound effects whenever an enemy's head connects with another object.
