We already know that the new trophy achievements system will not be retroactive for most games, meaning that players will need to revisit old titles again in order to gain the sweet, sweet virtual bragging rights. While this won't be an issue for those who enjoy replaying old games, it might turn into a bit of a slog-fest with multiplayer titles like Warhawk, where gamers have spend a lot longer building up their online reputations.
In an interview with IGN, producer Dylan Jobe stated that those who have already invested a lot of time into the online shooter need not worry. Some of the trophies associated with that game will be awarded automatically. Others, however, must be earned from scratch.
"We're excited about integrating Trophies into Warhawk for both new awards as well as some awards that players may have already achieved (prior to the update) like rank, combat badges and medals. As a result of our approach, and to clarify some of the confusion on the Net, some - not all - of the Trophies in Warhawk will be retroactive."
We'll have more information on the trophy achievements in various games once we get firmware 2.40 up and running.
