Warhawk Preview

warhawk.jpg

Finally, another kick@$$ PS3 game! I managed to get a lot of playing time with this title and it’s certainly not going to disappoint. And with online 4 player split screen, it’s like having a foursome. (Whatever that is.)

Gamers claim that warhawk is like the Battlefield series and in a way it is. Warhawk does away with the different character types, instead adopting a 1 size fits all mentality. Any and all characters can be thelma drivin, top-gun flyin, gun-tootin bad@$$es, if you so wish. Though some hard core players may find this disappointing, it’s simplicity makes it more accessable to mainstream audiences while still making sure it’s an extremely competent online title.

Game Modes

There are four gameplay modes in Warhawk: Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Capture the Flag, and Zones. The first 3 are standard fare, killing people, killing people in teams and killing people while trying to steal their flag. Zone is a little different. Intead of [just] trying to kill each other, you’re trying to capture various zones set throughout the map with points awarded periodically for the various zones held. The team with the most points [not kills] at the end of the match wins.

If you’re a PS3 owner and you enjoy playing fun games, then you owe it to yourself it pick up this game the second it lands on store shelves in August! (And if you don’t, Pedo Bear will haunt your dreams. Damn you, Pedo Bear!)
