Tales of Vesperia on PS3 Smashed Sales of 360 Version

Whoever said that PS3 ports of 360 games must flounder in sales didn't tell that rule to the PS3 version of Tales of Vesperia, which was released recently in Japan. According to sales figures, the PS3 port of the game royally trumped the Xbox version. Maybe it's the new pirate girl character named Patty that got fans in a nerd frenzy for the PS3 version? Or maybe it's these other PS3 exclusive features? One thing is for certain, Tales of Vesperia is a smash success.

The Japanese website Sinobi reported that the PS3 port moved 147,000 units on its first day on the market. If you look at the Xbox 360 version's sales figures, only 70,000 copies were sold in the first day and peaked at 100,000 copies for the first week.

This is actually the best 1st day selling Tales game in franchise history. Not too shabby for an enhanced port.

Tales of Vesperia (PS3): 147,000
Radiant Mythology 2: 135,000
Tales of Hearts: 121,000
Tales of Symphonia Dawn of The New World: 120,00
Tales of VS: 89,000
Tales of Innocence: 76,000
Tales of Vesperia (Xbox 360): 71,000
