Tales of Vesperia Coming to PS3... 360 Exclusive No More

patty_t.jpg

Seems like the word "exclusive" doesn't mean what it used to. Tales of Vesperia was billed as an exclusive Xbox 360 title, but fast-forward a few scant months later and the title mysteriously gets announced for the PS3. Go figure! The good news is Namco Bandai plans to throw Sony a few XXOO for making PS3 owners wait so long.

The PS3 version of Tales of Vesperia will get a new young pirate girl named Patty Fleur as a playable character. Patty is an expert in knives and guns and belongs to a pirate class. She is designed by illustrator Kousuke Fujishima, best known for creating the manga You're Under Arrest and his character design work on Sakura Wars.

But wait... that's not all. How about full voice acting? See, the 360 didn't get that. Did you say you want new cutscenes? Well here you go, and take some additional subplots while you're at it... which will go great with your new outfits.

Sorry goes out to Tales fans who rushed out to get a 360, thinking that's the only way to play the game. Blind devotion is a silly thing. Shoulda known better that nothing lasts forever, especially "exclusivity" deals. Curse you Namco Bandai for double-dipping and burning 360 owners. Hurray for PS3 owners. We've been in a J-RPG drought for way too long.
