Scratch: The Ultimate DJ Music Preview
Move over all you tired old rock & rollers, there is a new music sensation about to hit game consoles. Scratch: The Ultimate DJ is a rhythm music game that mimics the complex art of dropping a beat using a turntable. The game, which is coming to the Xbox 360 and PS3 this summer, will be accompanied by a turntable controller designed by Numark.
Today we got our first small taste of some of the music that has been licensed for the game, which leans heavily toward the hip-hop end of the spectrum. The final game will reportedly feature around 60 original and licensed tracks from the most popular hip-hop and R&B artists.
The setlist will include:
Flashing Lights- Kanye West
Intergalactic- Beastie Boys
Let’s Get it Started- The Black Eyed Peas
Slacker- Tech N9ne
Don’t Sweat the Technique- Eric B. and Rakim
As well as unannounced tracks from:
Run DMC
The Gorillaz
Nelly
Deltron 3030
Mixmaster Mike
The Scratch development team has collaborated with Mix Master Mike of the Beastie Boys, who is providing creative and technical input for the game. The Ultimate DJ will also feature music from Mix Master Mike’s upcoming album, set to launch later this year.

This game sound awesome! I'm so glad that a real dj helped design it. Beastie Boys rocked and I can't wait for this game. If anyone has any info...PLEASE blog it!
