PS3 Gets Exclusive Mirror's Edge Time Trial Map

Shortly after Mirror's Edge release, speed runs emerged as a fan favorite obsession. Players were trying to outdo each other and achieve that perfect run by studying YouTube videos and game faqs. Now the game's developer DICE has heeded your demands and will be offering a new map pack that puts speed runs back in the spotlight.

Big ups to Sony for snagging a cool exclusive for Mirror's Edge in the form of a free Time Trial map. The map pack will leave the realistic urban settings behind and instead feature abstract environments that will put players' grasp of movement to the test. The developers revealed that inspiration for the level came from balloons and based the geometry on what it would be like for Faith to explore a surreal dreamscape.

Although the full Pure Time Trial Map Pack will be available for both PS3 and Xbox 360 in February, the free Sony-exclusive map “Synethesia” will be released separately and is available January 29th.
