PlayStation Meta Game Changes Our Perception of HOME

Xi-t.jpg

Alone in the house? Lock the door. PlayStation Home is about to get meta. And it's gonna blow your mind. Say hello to Xi -- the world's first console-based Alternate Reality Game. Unravel the mystery as you make your way through a series of secret areas in Home.

Go to the main plaza. Look for the Greek letter Xi painted as graffiti on the wall. Approach it. Can you hear it? It's calling for you. Be brave and you'll be transported through the rabbit hole to a mind-altering new game experience.

A cutscene will introduce you to the world of Xi and there you'll meet Thorn. You'll be tasked with finding three pieces of paper hidden in the game world. Find them to dive deeper into the story. When the time comes, a robot named Stapler will give you additional missions and a large screen at the end of the room displays weekly updates.

What the game has in store is yet to be discovered. What we can tell you is that Xi is the 14th letter in the Greek alphabet (uppercase Ξ, lowercase ξ). It's pronounced [ksi] in Modern Greek, and [zaɪ] in English. It has a numerical value of 60.

We've given you that much. Now it's up to you to solve the rest. Have you got what it takes? Put your ingenuity to the test and we'll see how good you really are.
