King of Fighters '96 PS3 Review

PS3 Review
SNK Corporation

King of Fighters '96 has hit the PlayStation Network along with the classic arcade shooter Metal Slug 2, both from SNK. PlayStation 3 and Sony PSP gamers, rejoice.

King of Fighters '96 has been able to stand the test of time as it is still considered one of the greatest fighters ever made, right up there with the Street Fighter franchise, Marvel vs. Capcom, etc.

The fighter has been brought to the Sony PS3 and PSP in a great port, retaining all of the great visuals and sound effects that we have come to know and love from the game.

SNK has done a great job to ensure that the nostalgic gameplay and overall experience stays true to the release that blew the gaming community away nearly 15-years ago.

As part of the NeoGeo Station releases on the PlayStation Network, King of Fighters '96 does not fail or falter in any such way.

The game is a perfect port which has been improved upon with the addition of very enjoyable online play, allowing you to take your skills online.

Some very cool additions SNK has added in here include a virtual manual of the game, along with a complete list of moves for each character.

This is a great classic fighter and a very worthy addition to the PlayStation Network. For the price of $6.99 on the Sony PSP and $8.99 on the Sony PS3, there is certainly enough here to warrant a purchase for any fighting fan.
