Games of August

The PS3 has been [un]fairly dubbed as the Delaystation 3 and August only proves to further that stereotype. With 3 high profile games being delayed (Medal of Honor, Stranglehold and Lair) August looks slightly less awesome than what it did before. Still, I can guarantee that there’s at least one awesome title (that’s recently gone gold nonetheless) that’ll keep everyone happy. So, here's what I think are the best PS3 games being released in August. (I’ll be rating the games on a scale of 1-10. 10 being you would have to be crazy not to buy the game and 1 being “they charge money for this ****?!”

Week 1

Week 2
Snakeball
IGN can best describe this game far better than I ever could.
“Snakeball sees you donning your disco shoes to glide across the dance floor on a 'hoversnake' while collecting colored balls to score points. Other players can rapidly reduce your point tally by flicking you with their tails or blasting you with weapons. For that personal touch, the PlayStation Eye USB camera can be used to snap a picture of your face and map it onto your rider.” Essentially a 3D remake of the classic "snake" game we all used to play as children. (or, rather, as some of us old fogeys used to play as children.)

Rating: NA (haven't seen any videos or played it.)

Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3

A PS2 game on a PS3 site?! Surely I must be going insane, no? Well, when the game is this good (or so I've heard) a PS3 oriented site can't help but give props to what may be the best PS2 game of the year. Think of it as an occult version of Harry Potter. (only 10x better) RPG-lovin PS3 owners keep a look out for this title. This game is worth jumping back into last gen for.

Week 3
Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2
GRAW2 has been out on the 360 for quite some time now and PS3 owners are just now getting a taste at what people were talking about (a few months ago) After getting some time in with the review build, GRAW seems more similar with Socom than Ubisoft's other shooter game, Rainbow Six.

Week 4
Dynasty Warriors

Here's a game for all the Gundam enthusiasts out there. (and as we all know, Gundam fans also love Dynasty Warriors.) And for those of you waiting for the next Dynasty Warriors, here's something to make the wait a little more bearable.

Rating :7 (10 for Gundam or Dynasty fans. Please don't kill me.)

Warhawk

The coup de grâce for PS3 owners. Not so much that this game is going to kill them but rather it'll end their suffering of only having Resistance and Motorstorm to play for the past half year. Videos just don't do this kick@$$ game justice and only some hands-on time can reveal how truly great it is. Here's my preview of Warhawk
