Final Fantasy XIII's Dual Language Voice Track Only on PS3

ffxiii-ss-t.jpg

If you're going to buy Final Fantasy XIII and want the complete experience, plan on picking up the PS3 version. Apparently, the Japanese voice track has been stripped from the Xbox 360 version due to the space limitations of standard DVDs that the 360 uses.

FFXIII producer Yoshinori Kitase explained that the large memory capacity available on Blu-rays enable them to store two voice tracks -- English and Japanese -- on the PS3 version, but only the English voices will make it to the 360 version.

If you're a completist, it's obvious which is the better version.

I will be VERY happy if they give us a language option, because the english dub always ruins the game for me (and anime in general for that matter).

Square now says, PS3 without japanese voices because XBOX 360 version would need more DVD disc to add japanese voices too, and Square wants minimun DVDs possible in the XBOX 360 version.

Diegoras: That is an interesting question. I am almost certain they will release a Spanish voiceover version. Here in Spain where I live, every major Xbox or PS3 game has the spanish voice track. However, the release date might be behind the English one because it takes time to localize and translate all the text.

They never said the PS3 version would have a dual language track in the first place. All they said was they were thinking about it but it would be impossible for the 360 anyway.

The ps3 version (US) does NOT have japanese audio. In fact, the english voice acting ruined the game for me, as well as a few other things that they did to dumb down the game.

I'll be returning my copy tomorrow.

I just played the game through the first chapter, and I already regret buying this game. I don't wanna be mean but english voiceover is just too bad. I just can't take it anymore. Final fnatasy 13 is the worst ps3 game purchase I have ever made.

..... Why no japanese track with english subtitle .... I don't need to understand what i heard but i need a passion on what I hear. Japanese track give me that. I have to skip Final Fantasy XIII if there are only English Track.

I dunno why American people want to make things up TO BE Americanisms. Like Macross, they have to made it to Robotech or something and say it the best. Instead of English Version of Macross or Japanese with Sub.
