BUZZ Junior Jungle Party Review

BUZZ%20Jr.jpg

It's no secret that I really enjoyed BUZZ: The Mega Quiz. But Buzz Junior: Jungle Party just didn't hit me to the same effect that the previous title did, mostly due to design choices that make it more appealing to the younger demography while at the same time alienating those who enjoyed the original by axing the quiz game play and replacing it with time button-pressing games.

The most unique part of the game are the mini-games. I was expecting more quiz questions, albeit easier to answer. Rest assured, those are not the type of games in Jungle Party. (Or, I guess that’s a bad thing, if you were hoping for an educational games for your kids) Even though the premise of each game is the same, you’re either pressing that big red BUZZ button or the smaller colored ones, the different situations keep things interesting, from blowing bubbles in a Jacuzzi, to sliding down a vine, grabbing fruit, egging a gorilla with fruit and plenty of other situations. Like all other BUZZ games, there’s nothing here that’s terrible complicated.

If Jungle Party doesn’t sound like a barrel of fun that’s because, to older people, it really isn’t. For this holiday, BUZZ the Mega Quiz is definitely the game that you’d want to turn to for holiday fun. But, in an era where every other game is either Mature or Teen rated, it’s nice that the developers at Magenta are targeting a crowd that usually only gets sloppy TV/movie cash ins. When compared to those types of games, BUZZ Junior really begins to shine.
