Best PlayStation Gaming Costumes

Halloween may be over, but true fanboys and girls are already planning for next year. Before Halloween, we ran through some possibilities for both male and female costumes. Here are some folks who took their love of games to the extreme and dressed as a PlayStation game character this year. Whether you see them knocking on your door for candy, or they're next to you watching the latest previews for Killzone 2, you'll undoubtedly be awed by these gamers who've dressed up as their favorite gaming icons. Before we begin, I'm aware some of these characters have crossed platforms, but they got their original popularity from being on a Playstation system. With that said, on with the show!

6. Sackboy
Sackboy is the newest fellow on the list, but he's worked his way into the hearts of millions. Regardless, whether you love or hate this little guy, he's here to stay. And he's got costumes of his own. Kratos Sackboy, anyone?

5. Nemesis
I can't tell you how many times in Resident Evil 3 I dreaded coming up against these things. That ending battle in the courtyard with the helicopter? One of the crowning moments of "Oh shit" gaming.

4. Kratos
Looks like Kratos has put on a few pounds after killing Ares, but nevertheless, he still looks good. Too bad we couldn't find a fan boy who made Ares armor. That would have been pretty awesome.

3. Lara Croft
Lara Croft is perhaps THE most definitive female gaming character... aside from maybe.. Samus.. but you didn't know Samus was a chick until AFTER you'd finished playing. HAHA!

2. Final Fantasy VII
Admittedly, these costumes are from the Advent Children movie, but the characters are from the most loved Square-Enix (Squaresoft back then) game of all time. Plus, Sepiroth is just spot on.

1. Solid Snake & Meryl
We've saved the best for last! I've never seen a better Solid Snake costume, and Meryl is pretty much spot on as well. Great job guys, you deserve to be number one! Too bad Revolver Ocelot wasn't in the picture. He's awesome, too.
