Bejeweled 2, Other PopCap Games Hit PSN

Sony Online Entertainment today announced an exclusive publishing agreement with PopCap Games to bring five of its casual titles to the PlayStation Network. The first game, Bejeweled 2, is already available for download in Europe. Upcoming titles include Zuma, Heavy Weapon, Peggle and Feeding Frenzy, and these will also become available for download soon. Previously, PopCap games were only available online or via Microsoft's Xbox Live service. This deal therefore marks a bit of a coup for Sony in its effort to capture more casual gamers.

"As leaders in their genre, PopCap is to casual games what SOE is to MMOs," said John Smedley, president of Sony Online Entertainment. "Being the second largest publisher on the PlayStation Network, SOE is excited that this partnership will expand the PlayStation Network catalog with awesome casual titles that players of all types can enjoy."

Bejeweled 2 is a basic but addictive Match-3 game in which players must bring pieces of the same color together in order to eliminate them. On the PS3, Players can solve specially created brainteasers in Puzzle mode while up against the clock or kick back, relax and rack up the points in Endless mode. With spaced-out planetary backdrops, explosive new gems and mesperizing special effects, Bejeweled 2 might just be worth its $10 price tag.

Bejeweled 2 PS3 Features:

- PlayStation Network Trophies!
- PSP Remote Play compatible
- Stunning 3D special effects and HD resolution (up 1080p).
- Explosive new pieces: power gems, hyper cubes and time bombs
- Four ways to play: Classic, Action, Puzzle and Endless modes
- Explore a galaxy of handcrafted puzzles in Puzzle mode.
