Afro Samurai Coming to PS3

If you think you have what it takes to go for the #1 headband, then I would suggest first taking on the person holding the #2 headband! From the creators that brought us Spike TV's hit anime series I am excited to announce that Afro Samurai is coming to the PS3 and Xbox 360 consoles.

Afro Samurai is a five-episode anime series from Japan, based on the popular manga of the same name. For some of you that are not up to speed with the story I will gladly enlighten you. Afro Samurai is about a boy avenging the death of his father who was the original holder of the #1 headband until he took on "Justice" who mercilessly took his fathers head and the band becoming the god of the #1. Years have gone by and now the #2 headband is held by Afro himself and his world is full of enemies that want to claim the band for themselves. You see, only the #2 may challenge the #1 for the rights fo the band, however anyone is allowed to challenge #2 for the band; talk about a lot of pressure.

Let's hope that Namco Bandai can bring one of my favorite stories to life in video game form. The original voice actors will return for this game. The vocies include: Samuel L. Jackson as "Afro" and "Ninja Ninja", Kelly Hu as "Otsuru" and Ron Pearlman as "Justice" the main bad guy who took the #1 spot form Afro's father. Another big treat is the fact that the music influence "RZA' from the Wu Tang clan will make the return to the game's soundtrack and I am very pleased because the first soundtrack for the series blew my mind.

When I went to comic con last year to talk to the creators of the story, it was jaw dropping. The reason for this is because you can't really tell what era the story is set in. You have Afro wearing sandals with soft cushion bottoms like sneakers and enemies rocking cybernetic parts, even more enemies listening to mp3 players in a Feudal Japanese setting. So far the creators have captured the style they were going for and they were impressed that I pointed it out to them. The A.I in the game will change the way they attack you based on the style of the music which is kind of cool, but we will need to wait and see how this works in the final game.

If you have not watched the series and looking for a good anime with lots of blood and a funky hip hop style to it, then I would suggest getting the DVD if you can not wait for this game to come out. Besides, you want to get up to speed before the second season debuts. All right gamers stay glued for more information on this and other games; as always I am Quan and this is my news report so "Stay Frosty" gamers!
